We took Ella to get her first haircut. Yes, she is 2 1/2 and has never even had a trim! It was a very easy, stress-free experience for all of us. We took her to an adorable kids salon called Pigtails & Crewcuts. Ella got to pick which chair she wanted to sit in and she chose the airplane. There was a flat screen TV at her station which kept her attention very well. She really enjoyed steering her airplane as well! The only time she seemed nervous was when the stylist used the hair dryer for 30 seconds. Ella has never had her hair dried, but loves to watch me dry my hair. She kept saying, "um, Mommy.." When I told her excitedly she was drying her hair like mommy she relaxed. I would only let the stylist trim her hair to even it up. The after pic is not that different than her before pics, but I can really see the difference. BT was glad he tagged along because they had TONS of beautiful, cute and fun hair accessories for girls that I could have looked at forever!

Ella and I just spent 3 weeks at grandma's helping her out since she has a "boo-boo" as Ella would say. We enjoyed the quality time with grandma and grandpa! We hope mom/grandma is feeling 100% soon!
Here are some pics of the artist at work in front of grandma's house on one of the few warm days. She had no interest in looking at the camera!
I had a VERY special Valentine this year. Ella was sure to give me lots of hugs and kisses on this special day, but lucky for me she does this everyday!
Sorry it has been soooo long. There are a lot of things going on in our lives that has me preoccupied. Hopefully things will turn around soon. So for those faithful followers here is a slide show of Ella over Christmas and some pictures from January.
I am SO behind with Ella's blog, but wanted to let the few of you that actually do check-in that pics will be up very soon! Also, I have a feeling I will be better about pictures because I got a new camera from mom & dad for Christmas!!!!!!!!
Ella wanted to play with Play-Doh this afternoon. She plays with "doh" at her table in the sun room/playroom/where we eat room. The sun was really bright, so she said, "too bright mommy-need glasses." She forgot all about Play-Doh and instead posed for the camera.
On a side note- she is saying the funniest things now. Some examples: this morning she walked up to Frisco (our dog) and said, "Hey Frisco! What's going on Buddy?" When she sits on the potty to pee and nothing happens she says, "Its stuck!" When I am driving she is constantly saying, "be careful mommy!" Whenever I cough I get an "Are you okay mommy?" and a nice couple pats on the back! She says, "that's crazy!" and "that's really tricky!" There are a gazillion more that I need to write down. She has me laughing constantly!
Ella pointing to the E in the alphabet garden at Botanicals. This was the last day the water was on (October 15th) and it was a beautiful day with the temp in the 80's. singing in bath
Our neighbors gave us a hand-me down bike a couple months ago with training wheels for Ella. Since she was so interested in the big bikes at the Children's Festival yesterday we decided to get it out. She definitely likes daddy pushing her more so than pedaling, but that makes me feel safer anyhow. There is a bell she enjoyed ringing and she loved putting pine cones in the basket. Notice she is wearing her Redskins jersey (4 Sundays in a row now)! The pic of the back of Ella is just to show how TALL I think she is!
