Random pics from last week...

Ella pointing to the E in the alphabet garden at Botanicals.

This was the last day the water was on (October 15th) and it was a beautiful day with the temp in the 80's.

Bike Riding

Our neighbors gave us a hand-me down bike a couple months ago with training wheels for Ella. Since she was so interested in the big bikes at the Children's Festival yesterday we decided to get it out. She definitely likes daddy pushing her more so than pedaling, but that makes me feel safer anyhow. There is a bell she enjoyed ringing and she loved putting pine cones in the basket. Notice she is wearing her Redskins jersey (4 Sundays in a row now)!
The pic of the back of Ella is just to show how TALL I think she is!

Children's Festival

We enjoyed a beautiful morning at the Virginia Children's Festival which was at Town Point Park (waterside in Norfolk). It benefited St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Unfortunately, my camera had a big spot on it, so the pictures stink-but you get the idea. There were many fun activities and characters to see. We watched a performance of Charlotte's Web by the Hurrah Players, listened to stories read by Mother Goose, listened to lots of different performers sing, pet some farm animals, and played with ALL kinds of different toys throughout. Ella was scared of the big costumed animals at first, but by the end was going up and giving high-fives. There was a Gymboree tent that we visited and Ella got see one of her teachers. At one point Ella made a beeline towards the Barnes & Noble tent and I realized why when I saw Ms. Dawn from story time :) We ended the festivities with some ice cream and dancing!

Dancing with the Animals

The Virginia Symphony hosted an evening at the Norfolk Zoo and played many children's classics such as "Peter and the Wolf." We went with the Minters: Melissa (we went to grad school together, but became friends through Sharon, Clay her hubby, Charlie 28 months old and Neil, 11 months) Our admission was free because we are members of the zoo and we enjoyed free food, music and pretty cheap beer:) Charlie and Ella danced up a storm!
